And, no, carbon forks, cork tape, alu posts, ti bolts, Alcantara saddle covers, etc...don't count as "mixed materials". . |

Mzilliox's Seven
For some reason, can't copy the pics Matt posted earlier in this thread, which might be a good thing as they make my heart skip a beat or two. Just want to say, beautiful bike and beautiful pics. Thanks for sharing!

I'll be honest, I've snagged a few of Matt's pictures to use as desktop images. They are a great reminder to get out and ride my bikes and are so pleasing to look at!

bike pics
So now, those bike pics of yours have me wondering about great photographers who who took pics of bikes? There must be some that I just can't recall now. Cartier-Bresson maybe? Hmmm

Moser Carbon FSB
Always though it should have been FBS (fillet brazed steel). Carbon tubes except for steel head tube, with fillet brazed steel seat and BB cluster.

My first real road bike. Had it 4 years then sold it to a friend. Bought it back from him a few years later and now it resides in South America awaiting my annual trip.

Wow, thanks everyone, you know how to make a brother smile. Fishing and riding take me to wonderful places. All i do is point the camera at them and push the button and hope 1 or 2 people see the picture and want to go outside and play. I wish i would have studied photography, i guess i still can.. maybe one day ill try that out too.

Blast from the past
Circa 1990. Prototype #1 of the second generation Stumpjumper Epic. Ned rode one of these in the worlds one year. Chainstay shape was based on my buddies Fat Chance. I didn't have CNC at the time so I hand cranked that mold on the BPort & rotary table. I was so proud after making the first side and then an old timer told me not to gloat until the second side fit properly. And of course he was there when it didn't and said Uh Huh, spit his chaw on the floor and walked away laughing. My first real experience in backlash on an old mill. BTW...The second try worked perfect. Nearly 30 years later I still like riding that bike!
Fast forward 20+ years and here's Uncle Bruce and I having fun on our collaboration mixed material BG specials. A fun project with a fun guy. I've been involved with other mixed bikes over the years but these are my favorites. |
