Best adapter to put a wahoo element on a garmin mount?
Switched from garmin head unit to wahoo. What’s the best adapter for all of the garmin mounts I have? I don’t like the standard wahoo out front mount—it doesn’t play well with the cables—and the right adapter from wahoo is $25 all-in. A look at Amazon and the ‘bay yields a veritable Tower of Babel—gibberish.

Many mounts have two screws that let you skew the mount 90 degrees, which makes them work with both. Are you sure you cant just do that?

I use the Quarter Turn Mount Adapter listed on the Wahoo Fitness webpage under Accessories. $15. Easy to apply or remove for switching computers and bikes.

Don't use an adapter unless you want to bounce your new Wahoo off the pavement.

1/4 Turn
Wahoo 1/4 Turn is great. I have never lost a head unit, even on mtb/gravel.

I started using the lanyard with my garmin after I saw one too many tragic outcomes from someone losing their gps and going back to pick it up. But I suppose I would divest of my garmin mounts if I got a wahoo.

I've used the Wahoo-to-Garmin adapter since I got my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt a few years ago. I've never had a problem with it coming free. I'm a road rider, so maybe the situation is different for MTB folks. I just rode L'Eroica as well. No problems.
That said, I don't use a fancy out front mount. My Garmin mounts are attached directly to the handlebars with their silicone o-ring things. My Wahoo mount connects with zip ties.

What @Angry said.
Slightly OT, I'm very happy to pay for a nice out front that mounts using the stem bolts, so much cleaner. Just bought one from framesandgear.com, who have options for a wide range of stems. |
