Question Hey Serotta! C111 tubing oversized??

Hey Y'all!
Hey Serotta!
I was interested in ordering a C111 a couple of years ago but my wandering eye took over and I made another purchase, but while considering the C111 I of course took notice of the tubing.
It was what they called "OS" and the frameset I was checking out was a size 58 and while it was seemingly apropriate for that size bike I was concerned that a frame in my size(65) would
look somwhat emiciated!
Well....I recently saw jrm's frame in the Serotta gallery and
while his frame is a 65cm the tubes look very big!
Does Serotta use an even more "oversized" tubing for
the bigger frames it produces?
Thanks!

I am pretty sure that after a 62 frame size all bets are off from using anything close to normal stock tubes. Just one look at Too Talls 64 legend Ti confirms that in Ti and I am sure the same would hold true in steel. Working on a CSI in a 63 cm so I'll soon find out first hand.

Carlos,

My Legend is a 64, and while the tubing is oversized,
the Bike looks Normal at least in my humble opinion.
I believe that at 65 and above Serotta adds an
additional sleve to the downtube for support.

Serotta used to offer a super sized over sized tubing.
I believe they have discontinued this option.

The spec sheet on my 60cm Legend says OS tubes set. I wondered if they all did or if the larger sizes actually had bigger pipes?

Thanks for replying!!
Smiley..it will be interesting in just what sized
tubing you will receive on your CSI.
I know that titanium uses varying sized tubing
to be size specific, but I was really curious as to
whether a size 58 with OS tubing would be the
same diameters as OS tubing on my 65cm C111?

I think from your responses that over 62 Serotta
might just indeed use bigger diameters which I
think is the reason jrm's 65cm C111 looks "normal"!
Thanks!

Hey carlos my downtube is 1.5", top tube is 1.375" and seattube tapers from1.375 at the bottom bracket and 1.250 at the seat post area. I was nervous that the wound up fork would look tiny on it but it blends in well with the size of the frame. What sizes are other bikes tubes?. See ya John.
