Tips on how to find an old Aethos with a specific paint job?

Hey guys!

My wife is looking to buy an Aethos, but she wants a very specific paint job—the pale pink flake version that came out with the first run of 2021 Aethos’s.

I’ve been searching high and low, but am having trouble finding any place / person that has one for sale in a size 52, aside from one on AliExpress lol.

Does anyone have any tips on how I could find one for her? She rarely wants anything and I’d love to be able to find one for her, but am really running into a wall.

Thank you in advance for any tips!

Could contact specialized and see if they have any old stock. Otherwise getting a RTP version and get a painter to paint it.

Looks like they are also out of stock and may need to contact specialized

Thanks, guys!

I did think about the RTP route, but not sure I could stomach paying extra for the paint job when there's already a stock version available!

Specialized certainly has no stock, that color and rose gold were long gone over a year ago when I was last looking for a customer.

If the desire is to buy it now from some place, then I'd be had pressed to say where. But if you bide your time and keep looking at US-wide FBM and CL, and ebay, I am sure in a few months, one ought to turn up.

I'm a Specialized dealer and can say for certain that sold out means sold out. In fact, bikes that show as sold out on the dealer-facing b2b website are sometimes still available on the consumer-facing website (gee thanks, Specialized). So if a bike is showing sold out on the consumer facing website, it's well and truly gone, and this bike has been sold out for years already.

Best bet is to hope/wait for an RTP frame restock and send me a pm .

It is a great color. Specialized seems to have mostly "meh" colors with a few "NICE!" colors.

I think the solution is Aethos + paint job. I'm paying $200 for a sandblast + epoxy paint (steel frame).

Probably shouldn't blast a carbon frame though, no?
Also if OP gets an RTP version, does it need a ton of prep like that?

Maybe just get her one in her second/third favorite color and see if she just rides it? You could always have it painted later.

I’m not married. Can you tell?
