The EPL is getting interesting. LFC could be a handful if Mo Salah is back on form. Could Arsenal please give my nerves a rest next game? Very nice goal but couldn't it please come earlier?? How does Huddersfield Town take you to almost full time??

i know it's a rhetorical question, but the answer is: the difference btwn the 7th and 20th team of the EPL is quite small, much smaller than it is in, say, Serie A or Bundesliga. Not sure about the 5th or the 6th place team though

Any thoughts on why? Is there more $ in the EPL? I confess I don't follow the other leagues very much except for teams that make the CL.

I read somewhere that the Premiere League is the world's richest soccer league with revenues at around 6 billion (MLB and NFL throwball lead the way).

But still no VAR.

win by LFC and Red Star would be grand; dumps PSG right out

i have only followed soccer this closely in the last three years, but group tallies of 9, 9, 8, and 7 would surely be the most competitive group

that said, from a sporting perspective, a shame that the likes of Schalke would get through...

Ancelotti and several players have gone out of their way to say that the Anfield atmosphere is nothing special and will not intimidate them.

OK, but they have to back that up now. Liverpool are 13-5-0 in their last 18 Champions League home games.

I keep thinking they will break out the high press to surprise some teams. That has to be a weapon they are keeping in reserve . . .

Salah is good - but defense wins championships - Virgil is my pick

condolences, @wc1934. that was a tough match

LFC was quite profligate in front of goal though. One of those nights

Otoh, Spurs aren't so Spursy after all. Doubt anyone would want to play them

PSG can look like world beaters. They just can’t do it consistently. But when they’re on, mercy.
