700c to 650b Conversion Question

Here's a question for y'all- I have a Whisky No 7 carbon disc cross fork. The biggest tire I'd ever feel comfortable wedging in there is a 700x43 BG Rock N Road. I had to shave the molding flashes off with a belt sander on that tire to get it to fit, and it was a tight squeeze, but it rolled. Am I nuts to be thinking I'll put a 650x48 slick (Gravelking slick) in this fork or should it fit? FWIW the tightest clearance was at the top shoulder of the BG tire, not the sidewall, so I think I'll be OK.

Thoughts?

I put a 27.5" rocket ron on an early stan's arch rim and cleared that whisky fork but I had to trim the side knobs. I imagine a slick that wide would pose no clearance issues.

If you still have those Byway's mounted up, could you measure them for me? I have the same Stan's rim and WTB tire, but haven't built it up yet and I'd like to know if it will clear my frame!!

That's what I thought. Of course, I'd ordered the tire and wheelbuild stuff by the time I'd posted here.

FWIW Gravelking 27.5x1.9s are $25 each on eBay w/free shipping right now.
