Resto-mod / Pogliaghi

This bike's been a fun journey. Originally a PSA from a forum member, I jumped too late as another forum member picked it up. Fast forward a handful of months, and that forum member generously remembered my interest and reached out for a possible purchase. Some shipping logistics and voila, it landed! And....then it sat. For awhile. Fast forward another year or so of sourcing parts when time permitted. Finally had the good folks at an LBS assemble and ship it. Now just down to a few details and addressing a few hiccups. I hope to have it done soon to get out & enjoy.

This specific model of frame has very special family meaning to me that goes way back, which I'll elaborate on once it's fully built. In the meantime, enjoy the sneak peak pics.

Very excited to see the results, and to have played some small part in making it happen.

I realize this sounds over the top, but it's true: Paceline consistently acts as ballast against my negative perceptions of my fellow man. Keep it up, y'all.

Nice bike, Pogs are awesome IMO. I love those hoods....I wish that they still made them.

FWIW, your bike is probably from 1980. I have a Pog with a SN which is about 200 lower than yours; on another forum in a Pog thread someone posted that the SN on their bike is 7 digits from mine and that they purchased it from the original owner who still had the receipt dated 1979.

Really look forward to seeing final build. Even though it stings a bit...seeing that this was a “catch and release”...I’m glad to see that it’s going to be a great build.

I dont understand why campagnolo made black anodized... silver is way more classy... u want black just go carbon... u want aluminum components silver is the color, or silver/black like potenza....

It seems to be what most consumers want. Cycling, motorcycles, watches, pocket knives... black surface treatments like anodization, DLC, and PVD are in.

Fortunately, thry didn’t quit offering silver aluminum groups, they just added black as an option. Now if they would just go back to silver spokes. I was ok with the switch to black hubs and rims on their prebuilt wheels but miss the silver spokes. The years with black hubs, black rims, silver spokes, and silver skewers were the best.

Mmmm....Crystal goodness! I'm rethinking Super Record at moment. The photos really don't do justice to how literally perfect the finishing is on this seatpost.
