Lance Motor Doping

Just for a distraction from the RH tire debate... I realize this is from last year and the storyline has been discussed, but I had not seen these video clips of Lance before. Even in the one commentary Paul Sherwen describes seeing Lance's nervous movement during TT's. Definitely looks like a repeatable movement.

He is pulling his shorts down/out. It is very clear in one of the clips.
I'm no Lance fan but that guy's accusation is just ridiculous.

Must be a slow news day/week/month for someone to think this is worth spilling ink over.

for all the hub-bub around motors, they've still never found one in use within the men's pro peloton. they're like the bigfoot or ghost story of the peloton

Armstrong mentioned this on one of his Wedu podcasts. It's his "nervous" tick and he's been doing this his entire career, well before motor doping came about. Much ado about nothing.

Probably letting psi out of his 38mm tires to go faster.

I didn’t even have to click the link to see that this is about lances nervous habit of grabbing at his shorts. I am not a lance fan, but he has been doing this forever

Lance's heyday was 5-10 years before this stuff was viable.

You wouldn't have been able to get a battery hidden inside the bike that would be worth the weight penalty back in 2005.

If you ever rode an eBike back in 2000-2004 they were horrific. The batteries were bigger than a frame bag and had very little power.

Remember the lights that had a water bottle sized battery and were not bright and barely lasted an hour?

A good warm up minimizes the risk of injury.

heck this was a thing long ago, reported on by, if i recall, 60 minutes! remember the hungarian (or some other former eastern bloc) engineer who claims to have invented this in the mid-late 90's or so, the assertion being he was paid a LOT of money at the time by a rep from a u.s. pro team? put on the conspiracy tinfoil hat and it might be coincidental to consider how trek downtubes got fat right around that time....

weight penalty aside, if a quiet worm drive gear can crank out an extra 20-50 watts in bursts for donkeys who, through the miracle of science, are magically transformed into thoroughbreds, well....there ya go. presto change-o.
