Q36.5 Sizing - run small like most euro brands?
I need to replace some of my old shorts.....Q36.5 look nice and folks here have endorsed....how does the sizing run? Can the size charts be relied upon, or do they run a little small?
I am typically an XL in Capo and Exte Ondo shorts, but a Large in Rapha Classic... Thanks

I'm XL in Assos, XL in q36.5. Rapha ProTeam xl was bigger than Assos. Ipso Facto, you should try them on.

I have one pair of Q36.5 bibs. They are right up there with the best of the best in terms of comfort. I'm usually and XL, and ordered an XL. They fit great.

bought from here https://us-swinnertoncycles.glopalst..._GB&utm_term=b actual website: Swimmerton saves some dough but charges for shipping and is a tad slower than Q. Last edited by dsimon; 08-15-2022 at 08:15 PM. |

I measure in a small for both Assos and Q36.5 and the fit for bibs is good. I would even say that Assos' S9 stuff is a bit tighter in the same size compared to the Q36.5 Dottore X.

Drift....but the problem with sizing up much (not all) of the time is that the pad ends up in the wrong place. If you size up because of compression you may not find the pad sitting in the right spot.

Q36.5 and ASSOS are sized more or less the same, at least for the top of the line stuff.

Big time Q36.5 fan. For me they run true to size and no need to "upsize" like typical Italian brands. Maybe it's cause Luigi used to run R&D for ASSOS before he stepped out on his own.
In ASSOS (my other favorite brand) for Bibs I'm a MEDIUM (5" 9" 154 lbs. 33/34 waist. 16" neck and use a 32/33 length dress shirt - for reference) In Jersey's I'm mostly a MEDIUM ... A small will fit but it's more of a "race fit" at that point. You won't be disappointed in ANYTHING you get from them. Take the plunge and spend the money ... I'd rather spend $250+ for a pair of bibs that are comfortable and will last a few season than a cheap pair of shorts with a chamois like a cheese grater that will wear out in 1 season or need to be replaced sooner. Buy once, cry once ... Last edited by kitsnob; 08-16-2022 at 12:09 PM. |

Thanks all....I am kind of in the middle zone between L and XL (6'2", 180 lbs, 34 waist, 41 chest, 15-1/2 neck)....thinking the L might be the way to go.
If doesn't work....look for a deal on some new bibs in the classifieds...might be easier than returning to Italy!

Bikeinn has great prices on Q. I previously wrote on some stackable discounts :

Had them send regular mail (NL post to USPS) .. Took OVER a month to arrive - that's my only "gripe" Had I paid the upgrade shipping charge to DHL/UPS, I prolly would have had them in LESS than a week ... but i wasn't in dire need of the items so i had time to wait .... |

OK - pulled the trigger with BikeInn....ended up going with XL after playing with their sizing tool....pretty slick. We will see how accurate it is.....
Swinnerton had good prices but limited sizes and shipping was $150+! Probably broke even with the good prices though....
