Switching from Orange Seal Endurance to Regular helps. I now only have to add air every day with extralegeres. I have thought of trying the silca goop with particles to plug the holes.

Every WTB tire I've tried weeped constantly forever.
The light casing Contis sometimes weep. Maxxis 3C/EXO tires don't seem to weep at all. Bontarger GR seem ok too. I haven't tried tubeless road, just gravel and MTB. Really seems to be a problem for certain brands and certain casing types. |

Not all of these are tubeless compatible - double check the part number.

I mean the WW thing comes partly from the knowledge they could build tires that didn't need sealant at all other than for actual punctures. No tape required, no air compressor required.
If we would buy them. They already did, and we didn't, so we got messed up compatibility, tape, air compressors, and required sealant instead. Last edited by benb; 08-10-2022 at 11:00 AM. |

Continental tyres seem to have this issue. They'll seal eventually. My buddy bought these and described his experience as having a million pin holes in the sidewall. He uses Orange Seal BTW.

This thread got me curious, so I just mounted two Terra Speeds and one Race King.
And they mounted and seated right up with a standard floor pump. I'll check in the morning, but they're holding pretty firm with absolutely NO sealant. You sure you got the tubeless version? Last edited by rice rocket; 08-13-2022 at 01:23 AM. |

I have this going on with a mtb wheel. I just took it apart and the inside looks good but there was almost no liquid inside. Wet to the touch only. A mostly thin translucent coating inside. Its been weeping for about a month or two. The front wheel is fine, same tire. I think maybe the particles in the Stans were expended and with only liquid left it leaked out instead of sealing.
So, I’ve cleaned it carefully, remounted and re-Stansed (new word). I used 3 ounces rather than the 2 ounces I’ve used for years. Bouncing and flipping it around now. Will report as it weeps or not. |

I've got Specialized Fast Trak and S-works Fast Trak and Tracer Pro sidewalls weeping 24/7 for a couple of years now despite the interiors having a complete coating of latex
Schwalbe Pro One road tires -not a drop. |

I don’t think the particles matter much regarding weep prevention.
My belief is weep is caused by the propylene glycol or glycerine component of the mixes seeping through thinner and/or less crosslinked (but more supple perhaps?!) sidewalls of some tires. As a test, touch some of it and rub between fingers. If kind of oily then likely that’s it. Latex component would dry and skin, the water will evaporate… Not sure much can be done about it, likely just the nature of the tires and a heads up to top off regularly. One thing I’ve thought about a bit is doing initial mounts with pure latex to seal and form an initial barrier enhancement inside the tire. Let it saturate/permeate the tire for several days then top off w the normal sealant mixes w particulates, water, PG/glycerine etc. Might help w weep a bit among other things. Main idea was to generate a stout initial seal around bead/rim, valve etc. |

About three weeks and two rides later, I have very minimal weeping and air - loss. About 5 lbs per 10 days. I’m going with my Stans being exhausted of material to plug small leaks. Fresh Stans seems to have fixed it.

It's funny that people bust on Jan's tires for weeping. I have some schwalbe and some bontrager mtb tires that wouldn't stop weeping. That's a lot of sealant wasted. I wonder if the latex they used to sell for painting sidewalls would work? Sealant has to have a balance between staying liquid and sealing, so it's not the ideal formulation.

Will we all agree that Panaracer Gravel Kings, in their various flavors, don’t weep much at all?
(not for me with Orange Seal Endurance at least) |
