I wanted an Enve CX disc fork, so I set up an eBay alert. Bid on and missed a few, then finally one showed up with a $95 BIN...so I bought it. (They're normally $300+)

A previous owner had painted the insides of the fork legs, and I didn't like the color, so I spent quite a few hours sanding off the paint. (and I'm still not done)

In the end, it would have been cheaper to just buy one for $300+...oh well.

I'm going to lose about 180 grams, though! (OEM fork is an anchor)

Parking spot at home. Don't have to bring the bike inside to have some shelter from the weather.

Sniped a nice winter jacket just now. Maybe too big for me, but hey -- price was right.

Wanted a sport frame that can handle larger tires, I tried a Surly Cross Check, very nice riding frame but didn't have the lines I wanted in a frame plus longer wheelbase effected the agility I prefer. Money was an object so I whittled it down to two frames, Black Mountain Road or Soma Stanyan.
By chance I stopped by American Cyclery to check out the Soma Stanyan, normally a $900 frame but on sale since Soma is discontinuing this model. On sale through most outlets for $699.00 but American Cyclery had a few they were letting go at $500. Bought one, built it up,really really like it.
Fit my budget, looks great, rides greater, not a lightweight (mainly do to fork) yet agile and comfort for my needs.

New Potts 29er arrived 2nd week of Sept. I have just under 300 miles on it. A mix of road and fire roads in the Verdugo Mtns. by my house, and the Santa Monicas.

In an unfinished state at Black Mountain Cycles. Mike takes better pictures then me, so his unfinished shot is better then what I've been coming up with lately.

And a distant iPhone shot out in the Santa Monicas:

Just bought a full version of PerfPro software to run my Computrainer for the winter.
Have to say a couple weeks into it and I am SUPER happy with the features I've used and I can't say enough about how much easier it is to use than the CT stuff. The power based ergometer workouts are just what I need on weekdays when I can't get outside after work.

Also have a Bontrager Satellite Plus carbon fork I'm picking up from the post office today for my Black Mountain Cycles road frame. Lots of tire clearance and a bit lighter than steel, should be a nice addition.
