In praise of the Shimano RX8.

I started a thread awhile back because I had corns that were giving me a good deal of pain: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ghlight=Insole
I removed the majority of the corns, but they go pretty deep. It’s like having a pebble perpetually attached to your feet.

A few people mentioned that insoles wouldn’t fix the problem - that the actual problem was in the floppy, soft sole of my previous shoe. It turns out, at least in measuring by several recent rides, that they were right.

The RX8s have been game changers for me. They’re incredibly light, really stiff, and walkable. If you’re looking for a SPD style shoe that can make a seamless transition into your “road” shoe, I wouldn’t look any further.

Bonus: the “camo” style looks really understated.

Cool

Shimano shoes are honestly some of the best I have ever used. I like my S-works road shoes and Fiziks for off-road just fine but I still think about the shimanos alot.

RX-8s are great! I've worn them for thousands of miles on road and gravel (including a handful of hike-a-bike moments). My only complaint is that their wide is not as wide as Lake's wide last.
