Need help finding cable stops for Giant TCX

Hey everyone,

Building up a 2018 giant Tcx advanced frame and realized that I misplaced a few of the cable stops and fittings. Anyone have a lead on where I could get them? My internet fu is turning up totally empty.

FD cable fitting

Goes on the seat tube and allows the fd cable out of the frame

Downtube fitting for shifter housing.

If anyone has a source for these, I would be very grateful!

We recently were in the same situation. You can orders those stops directly from Giant or a Giant dealer.

^This. If you can, find the exploded frame diagram from Giant and identify the part numbers.

Also some generic ones by problem solvers or similar companies will work if the holes are a standard size. I ran into a similar problem on my CAAD 12, and some of the cable stops are standard (the brake stops), whereas the gear cable stops are not and have to be special ordered (if you can find the part number)

Thank you both. I couldn't find anything on parts diagrams and I drove myself nuts looking. I talked to a few local shops (like 4 of them) and none had any there. One is up to order them but warned that it might be mid to late Jan till they turn up because giant goes on a 2 week vacation for the holidays. That's great for them and I 100% support it. I just wish this bike was working 😭😭😭

I'll follow up with the local shop.

The black stops on downtube, those are just 6mm to 5mm step downs. Nothing major. I believe I have some. I can look tomorrow. I can't tell what's behind the front derailleur though. If you have a better pic I can check.

That would be awesome if you had some!

I might be able to get away without anything for tube front der. Talked to another shop today and they said that they thought that it was just the skinny in frame cable guide tubing that came out of the hole for the FD.

Are those cable stops part of any cable setups like jag wire etc? Or brake cable housing step downs?

Some of Jagwire's brake housing ferrules might fit the frame, but their ID is 5mm instead of the needed 6mm for the derailer housing ferrule.
Also, derailer housings should always butt against plastic and not metal.

Giant has delivered odd frame parts for me in one day here in California. I suggest contacting a Giant dealer for anything that proves hard to find.

Does anyone have any insight into compatible ferrules for this?

I got in touch with giant and a giant dealer. Someone at giant gave me the part numbers and they were the incorrect ones... I've had this frame and the parts since thanksgiving and I haven't even ridden it yet.

This has been such a frustrating process.

I would contact Giant again (or through a different intermediary?).

They seem to have their stuff together whenever I order something.

I'm just so frustrated at this point. I bought the original bike in Nov and have yet to ride it.

Hit up Bikesmith at 19th/Spring Garden next time you're in Philly.

You'll need these if the front derailleur hanger and cable stop are all you're missing:

1630-CM245B-201
1643-WG34B0-401

If you can't find them locally, a few online shops seem to have them available.

Thank you so much!

I think the shop was able to pull the FD hangar off the old frame. It was stuck but the frame was trash so I told them not to be nice and off it came!

I'll have to double check the part number for the cable stop, I got the RD ones last time so just trying to make sure that the right one shows up.

Looks like 245B is for the downtube and 246B is for the chainstay. The 246B part is what giant had told me to order :/

You had it right. Thanks so much!

I wish I had asked here first and waited for you to answer instead of ordering through giant and their dealer who sent the wrong stuff over and charged me like 30 bucks for it....

Oy.
