Well, the Hawks had their wings clipped a bit last night.

Hopefully the series will be more competitive than Game 2 might suggest.

[QUOTE=XXtwindad;2945215]I have a lot of empathy for him. He's being absolutely trashed on social media. What a cess pool. Yes, he should learn how to shoot a friggin free throw. If he could shoot 75% from the line and perhaps 35% from deep, he might have a chance to be the best player in the league.

As it stands, I worry about his mental health. When you read about athletes and depression, the onslaught of vitriol with Simmons is a prime example.

Frankly, at the risk of descending into "touchy-feely land," perhaps Simmons needs a more nurturing, supportive environment. There is a famous one right over the Bay Bridge from me. I think Kerr, Curry, and Co. could set him up for success.[/QUOTE

Just sayin’ …. I actually can’t think of a better landing place for Simmons. I think he’ll have a “resurgence” (that’s a dubious word given his skill set) and lead the Dubs right back into contention. I might place a call to my friendly neighborhood bookie.

Sorry, but I love this Finals season. It's great to see new people and how hard they want the win.

Honestly anyone would do well at GS. Their program and the way Kerr coaches builds winners. Look at the players he's coached and if they've left, look at how they do. Look at Magee at LAL. Look as Wiggins now. If it works out for them, great. I just hope Klay is healthy.

You cannot play Simmons and Draymond at the same time. No way the Dubs are paying $140 million for a bench guy.

We shall see. I think Simmons would be a great fit in terms of terms of playing style and potential teammates. I don't know how the financial particulars work out.

What playing style? He can't shoot. You can't run two non shooters out there who play the same position.

For both financial and on court fit reasons, Dray and Simmons can't be on the same team.

Simmons isn't a Dray replacement either. If you don't have Simmons running the offense, he's worse than useless. He also doesn't have nearly the defensive quarterback chops that Dray has. Fabulous on ball defender though.

Simmons needs a team where he can be surrounded by 4 other shooters and run pick and roll to get downhill then kickout.

It's hard to imagine this iteration of Simmons truly helping any championship contender. But of course he's only 24 and made of talent, so maybe he gets it together and 1) starts shooting with his correct hand, at which point he proves to be a good shooter; 2) learns to shoot well with his wrong hand; or 3) accepts that even as a league-average shooter from three, he's a much, much better player than he is now. Unless one of those three things happens, he's going to be a massively overpaid defensive specialist who can't close important games. In other words, at his salary? He's a liability for a team that hopes to win.

Yet another game that thrilled hardcore fans while causing everyone else to flip around for something with more offense and stars: reruns of Roseanne or whatever. The officials' handling of the out-of-bounds play in this case was totally inconsistent and, along with a bunch of other late calls, must have infuriated people who love the Clips. So, that's Billy Crystal and maybe seven other obsessives who were upset last night.

My Finals prediction is still holding and I think I've got at least one team correctly guess.

But man I hope I'm wrong about the Bucks.

It takes a lot to lose a Bush League Bull**** contest with CP3, especially after that dive that got Cousins a T, but PatBev managed it. Looks like Russell Westbrook was right about the guy.

Congrats to the Suns and CP3, by the way. He's too good to go out without ever having been to the Finals.

Every playoffs is attrition, there are no asterisks, etc. But are any of the 10 best players in the league still playing?
