A list of winter topics could be compiled now and stored away for later use but then you wouldn't have to think up the OT topics later when it's snowing outside. Oh wait I might be overthinking the entire process.

I got one that'll keep us busy for days when it snows

"I'm an attorney ...and the bike shop just charged me $5 to fix a flat...and they didn't mention the superiority of tubular tires...or Campy...or stroke my ego because I ride a bike...and laughed at the 9 speed triple on my 20 year old Litespeed"

Advance warning...the internet will break

I took a Colnago Dream to a reputable LBS (one that everyone here would recognize) and the junior mechanic clamped the downtube on the stand.

Ouch.

Even a good LBS can screw up.

I will gladly take a frame to an LBS for them to remove parts that I don't have tools for (mostly Shimano BB sets), and will pay them whatever they charge me. I'm usually "jumping the line" by bringing in a bare frame and asking to wait...versus leaving the frame/bike for several days.

All the shops in metrowest Boston have been happy to do a quick job for a knowledgeable customer (usually on an interesting/unusual bike)...
