I am duct taping my saddles when the leather tears on the edges. Can get another 6 months out of them that way. Suggest you do the same to that tire.

For an S3 Lite 215, you must have done a lot of skid stops. That's the tire that gave the whole line a bad rep for horrible ride quality. This is the tire that ShoeGoo is made for.

I virtually never skid stop. That's just pretty much the normal life I've been getting out of these tires. I really like the tire and never could understand the bad rap. Perhaps I'm insensitive or mostly ride good smooth roads. Or maybe a carbon fork and wheels smooth things out. They seem to feel better at good high pressure, 130 to 150 psi.

A Tufo S3 Lite 215 at 130-150 psi? This calls for an all-hands alert. Major intervention required here. I'm amazed you still like to ride a bike. Next time at least get the Tufo S3 Pro and pump it to about 100-115 depending on your weight. It's almost as durable but it's supple and actually a bit cheaper. Or if you really want to know ecstasy, get a pair of Veloflexes. You should be commended for riding on such a brick of a tire and then for doing so at such a high pressure.

kind of what my rear tire looks like when i finally retire. what i have been doing the past seven years or so is using a new tube when replace tire. seems like i get a lot fewer flats. i have also had great success using shoe goo in certain applications for the last 25 years or so.
