Thanks very much for taking the time to post this up, William and the rest of the Paceline team!

Myself, Bryce, as well as my partner in 22, Mike, will keep our eyes out for your questions and comments. We'll also loop Scott Hock, our Director of Operations, into the conversation for his technical expertise as needed.

Cool, thank you Bryce!

It's always interesting when a stroke of bad luck (putting the deposit on a run of frames with the Serotta Group right before they close their doors) turns out to really be a stroke of good luck (Hiring some of the skilled Serotta workers and getting equipment). Though I'm sure there was a bit of angst in the process I'm glad it turned out the way it did.

Just some curiousity on my part, it sounds like you are anodizing in-house...how are you masking for the details? Are you using a vinyl tape or a type of photo-masking? I understand if you don't want to say too much if it's more of a propritary process, I was just curious.

Thanks again,
William

Hi William -

We're experimented with a number of vinyls from paint masking to interior and exterior sign vinyls. Right now, we're running with an interior sign-type vinyl with pretty good success. The goal is to get something that's thick and sticky enough to stay put during bead-blasting, while not too sticky that it leaves residue that can cause damage removing, etc.

What percentage of your bikes would you say have custom geometry? Do you change tubing selection / butting profiles on custom geometry or just dimensional changes? My wife at 5'7" weighs less than the typical male cyclist of the same height. She has definitely benefited from custom bikes in the past.

Your bikes are well thought out and look well proportioned. You are high on the list for any future bike that might come into our household.

Anyone else notice those gradual sweeping bends in the chain stays? Super sexy!
