That is a stunningly nice looking bike there, Dave. Incredible work. Thanks for sharing. Wow.

Good morning -

I honestly don't know the weight and I've already started hanging parts on it so I can't get a clean weight.

I would guess the frame weighs in the 3.3 lb range. The tubes on this build are geared to a light rider and there's no real fat to cut from it. It has a 1 1/8" steerer/head tube and switching to a 1" would drop some weight if that was the aim.

I hope that helps.

Hi,

Reynolds has discontinued their 953 product. How is that going to affect the your frames? Switch to Xcr?

I have a wonderful relationship with Reynolds and they allowed me to buy enough of the 953 that I will probably have enough stock to see me through retirement. I won't have to make any changes any time soon.

I honestly don't have an answer to that question. I have not set a firm date at this point. I'd be shocked if I'm still standing at the bench in 5 years...and right now I have about 1 year of work in front of me. So that defines a window of sorts.

I still love building and know I'll miss it when the time comes to give it up. That said I've been standing at a bench for a living nearly full time since 1980 and it takes a toll physically.

This one just left Bozeman and is headed east to the DC area to be ridden on all kinds of mixed routes. I look forward to seeing photos of it on its new stomping grounds.

That one is unreal. Will keep eyes out for it on the local roads.

Hey, I was a mature adult in 1980 and even without standing at a bench the years take a toll. :-)

This one just came in my Mr. Bell's shop and it's ready to go back out the door to it's new home back east.

It's a fully stainless fillet brazed Onesto with partial paint to give it a classic look. In the sun the paint looks like it's still wet and a foot deep. Very cool.

Have a good weekend -

dave

Dave-
Thanks for posting the pictures of my new bike! It turned out exactly as I had wished. Now I get to pace around waiting for the next week!
Thanks again-
Gene

So elegant and stunningly beautiful. Seems a shame to even hang components on it. Still, a bike does have a purpose.

Enjoy.

That is perfection, and just what I'd want, only in a dark purply-blue! And maybe just the lower fork legs bare stainless....

Lovely
