Years ago I set up a simple photo studio in my basement to take bike photos in and it works fine. That said there's nothing like natural light to show of the true color of Joe Bell's paint. I just can't capture the depth with studio lighting.

This fillet brazed road bike all came together with the perfect timing for some natural morning light filtered through the aspen trees in the front yard. The frame is headed to the west coast and I sure the sun there will flatter is just as well.

The bike is built up with Sram Red AXS 12 speed, HED Ardennes Blacks and a Fizik cockpit and as soon as i have some breakfast it will go into a box and head to it's new home.

just had a profound deja vu moment when seeing this bike. It reminds me so much of a bike you built me in early 2013. fwiw, that was one of my favorite bikes ever...

So true about capturing Joe Bell's paint...this one looks like the same pea sage green but is there also some metallic treatment in the finish?

Man oh man, I love that bike. Perfectly proportioned and an incredible paint job! I'm a sucker for pearlescent paint and to put it on top of an earth tone green is just next-level thinking.

Oh, you must mean those 12-13 days a year... It actually is a lot better than when I got here in 2011.

Is this frame painted the same color as my JKS Classic? Looks very close to my eye.

I’ve been trying to imagine how black components will look on my frame so this gives me a good indication.

I don't know if they are the same color number but they sure look similar to me.

Quick question: do you design your FD braze-ons to accommodate sub-compact gearing or if that's the intended crank setup recommend going with a clamp-on front derailleur?

Good question - I can set the braze-on at any height it needs to be so if the bike will be used with the really small stuff that is no problem.

We can also go without the braze-on for unlimited adjustment range. Both work well.
