Ruh oh...if his other bikes are half as nice as that one, some of us are in trouble here...

He's got a cool Mike Melton, but it's a bit vintage for me.

Came upon this website and was looking through their rather wonderful assortment of gorgeous large frames when I came upon this one:

Holy crap! That's my old Concours!

I miss it, terribly.

I think that site might be run by temeyone who is a member here. The Rodriguez he posted here is the same as on that site: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=202938

This one on eBay is truly interesting. Huge head tube CIII, with a 10.5 super-stiff fork.

At some point as a framebuilder, you should just say "no"

I'd venture a guess this seller isn't the original owner with that seat height.. but that's just a guess..

Old saying goes you can't fix ugly. But, that frame was hopefully a wonderful bike for someone who had neck issues or needed to ride more upright....or something.

Yeah, I don't begrudge the fit if it was truly necessary, but this would have been the perfect application for a threaded headset and long Nitto stem. I guess the way it's built would make for more front end stiffness, but if you're only bearing 5% of your weight on the bars, does it matter?

Or it was designed for someone with really long legs, like me...

My Circle A's headtube is probably as long as that one's at 26cm and, if I may be so bold, I would say it looks about as normal as a bike that size can. Then again, Serotta did have a reputation for just building whatever and maybe this bike's original owner just wanted to cruise upright or something.

That's because you top tube is level and your seat is still inches above your bars. If the Serotta was custom for someone based off need, and likely it was, then great - someone was on a bike that needed that setup. If not... that's something all together different.

Yours does look proportionally (and just generally) 100% proper
