Olympic Team Pursuit - Spoliers

Women grab a bronze in a field where World Records were broken by several teams.

Mayhem in Men’s when the Danish team crashed into a trailing British #3 rider

Crazy stuff

Madsen should have been watching where he's going. Aerodynamics are great, but not at the cost of vision. And he yelled at Tanfield, as if it were his fault.

It gets better…

Apparently the Danes used k-tape on their shins in round 1 as an aerodynamic advantage. Lots of folks, including tge Brits, screaming for DQ but they only got a warning.

Also concerns about the undershirt they were wearing - advertised as creating an aero advantage but it wasn’t available for sale by 1/1/21 and the website was altered yesterday to show that it was.

Fun stuff…

Yeah, dontcha just love the UCI? They make rules which call for DQ in such situations, but then don't DQ the offenders.

If the UCI were to DQ Denmark for that then they'd have to DQ a bunch of teams.

I'm surprised to see GB gruffling about nonstandard gear since they're the worst offenders, having ridden proprietary UKSI bikes for years and years and years, the Cervelo T5, and a ton of custom kit (helmets, wheels, handlebars) that was never for sale to the public. Sure, they said it was... but with no price and a note about how they make no promises about actually having any realistic timeline to build and deliver something for a buyer.

The Danes are working with the situation the UCI created.

The only consistent UCI rules seem to be 1) we’ll make it up as needed and 2) do you have money?

LOL at UK griping about other teams doing marginal gains when they've spent many millions of pounds doing the same.

fellas... you got smoked, the tape and base layers wasn't it. from what i read they didn't have the tape on in the round where GB completely came apart and dropped their own #4 and #3 riders.

plenty of blame to go around including the Danish guy not looking where he's going, but typically you wouldn't expect to be lapping riders this deep into the rounds.

UCI rules and enforcement still a joke as well.
