Bike rental in Zurich Switzerland
Hello, will be spending a few days in Zurich in September and would like to rent a decent road bike to do a bit of cycling in the area. Any recommendations on where to look? And any suggested routes would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Looking for same.
Have contacted two shops near Zurich HB - VeloPlus and Cycles Zurich. Waiting for replies. I took a short ride in ‘06 using the north loop of the Zuri-Metzgete route (http://www.cyclingfever.com/stage.ht...e_idd=NjAzNQ==). I encountered Team Phonak (going the opposite direction) that day. Also saw all the chalk messages on the climb from the previous week’s race. Last edited by Plum Hill; 08-15-2019 at 05:16 PM. |

I've rented road bikes from two shops, albeit many years ago. Both only offer mountain and E-bikes now. What's up with that?

Welcome Cycles in Zug How tall are you, I could possibly sort you out with a bike If you are cycling on Saturday morning, you would be welcome to join our weekly ride, we are an international cycling club, usually around 50 riders join our weekly ride, so have lots of different groups riding at different pace. Normally around 10 people ride in from Zurich (30km) or take the train (25 mins) Here is a link with more information https://www.meetup.com/Zug-Zurich-Peloton/ |

I will ask if anyone knows about good cycle rental in Zurich. If you could join us that would be excellent. After our coffee stop in Brunnen, at least one group will be riding back to Zurich. It is a rather nice ride of around 50 miles, even though we ride in smaller groups, we always meet up at least twice on the ride, and there is a compulsory stop in Brunnen on lake Lucerne. We also have a stop at one of the most popular “post card” locations in Switzerland. The std ride is not too mountainous (around 3000ft) but a group will normally set off from our fstop Brunnen to climb a mountain if that is your thing.

Ha, great thread! We're also headed to Zurich/Zermatt soon. If anyone has any tips for food, points of interest, cool shops, or anything would be much appreciated.

Any thoughts on riding up to Uetliberg?
Just give me a wood oven pizza and a Calanda Radler. |
