Flying with Tubeless Wheels

Noob tubeless question here...

I'm flying to Europe on Saturday and taking a bike setup with tubeless wheels. I just put some fresh rubber + new sealant on them today for the trip.

Just curious if anyone has flown with tubeless wheels packed up with their bike and can let me know their experience with it? Specifically, I'm wondering if I deflate my tires fully when packing, if I'm likely to have a massive mess of sealant on my hands when I get to unpacking the bike in Italy?

You’ll be fine with the tires holding some air during the flight. If you want to be safe, make sure your pressure is about 10-15 psi lower than your setup’s max limit.

Have fun in Italy!

you are suppose to deflate the tires completely but you don't have to. The place the bags go in are pressurised so the tires will not pop. But I would take some pressure down, just not enough to have the chance of tire coming out and making a big old mess.

Nothing to worry about, unless you deflate them too much and they come off the rim.

just a little so it's soft but not too much where it slips off the hook.... have a safe flight.

Agree with all of the above...I've also slipped a plastic trash bag over each wheel when packing for flight as a bit of insurance against leakage.

no need to deflate, just box them and go.
