I wish there was an easy way to capture youtube videos and save them as mpg files for watching later.

Plex had a feature that allowed you to do exactly this, but they dropped it recently...

I've done some googling. Noe of the approaches seem straightforward, and I'm reluctant to load "non first tier" software vendor work on my Mac... Always concerned about what else that software might be doing when I'm not looking.

Been using YTD Video Downloader (You Tube Downloader) for years on both Mac and Windows platforms, will do just what you want, great for music also! https://www.ytddownloader.com/macosx/
The free version requires an extra step to convert formats if you need to make changes to the file format otherwise MPEG-4 MP4 videos download with one click.

Thanks for posting all the videos.

The extended documentary with Bobby Phillips is magical. Have known Bobby, “The Baltimore Bullet”, over 25 years and never once did he mention this documentary. Bobby’s had some rough times as of late, medical issues preventing him from competing. He and his parents were a huge presence in the Mid-Atlantic racing scene.

Tim Porter, if you’re out there you’ll love this!

Bobby's dad was a character. I talked to him a couple of times when I was a junior.

Agreed, fond memories of those days when the three of them would attend our races. We would all share stories and congreagate around them at the finish.

Thanks, laupsi! Bobby Phillips used to go head to head with the sprinter on our Wolverine Sports Club team, Roger Young, all the time. I remember those post-race congregations with Bobby. I'm picturing him in my mind with a national champion jersey on--could that be correct?

I wish I still had my last hairnet, it was one of the fancy ones. Wouldn't wear it though.

You are correct Tim. Bobby donned the National colors while racing on one of the videos posted.

My generation, I remember all these guys, those bike, those jerseys.

What happened to Oliver Propadic, the guy with the long blonde hair? I Googled him but found nothing.

Thanks

I grew up in Il and dabbled some but my friends raced a lot more. I recognize some of the officials who used to run the races. Good nostalgia.

Thanks

Alan
