Yep, I can attest to that but was able to catch it in time. You adapt to it pretty quick though!

It looks like the builder was in doubt if building a traditional lugged steel or an oversized welded steel or maybe a carbon bike. So he opted to do everything. It looks as pretty as Frankenstein. .

As already mentioned, it's not really fair of them to claim that theirs is the "first ever steel bike to be built with true oversized lugs". Llewellyn did it last year with their Colossus model, profiled here:

Wow, the red paint on that bike is fantastic. It looks wet and the flakes make it pop.

It looks too good IMO, I would fear every pebble I rode by and a part of me would die with the first rock chip to that gorgeous paint.

Love that bike, sans the curved seat stay.

True but Battaglin built the Portofino model 2-3 years ago, this is a new colorway but the tubes & lugs were worked out a while back.

No matter, chapeau's to both and the other artisans that build these types of rides.

Has anyone ridden one of these and care to give some feedback? Blacksmith has one on sale in my size and it’s tempting.

Not a fan of oversized tubes in general. But I think they could have done a much better job with the colour palette and clashing fonts all over the place

It’s pretty close to my Peg 51 which is 535/375 which I’m running with a 110 -17 stem. Waiting to hear back from Blacksmith on HS stack height to see how close it’ll be.

Edit: 10mm stack height for HS. A 100 -6 stem with a 5mm spacer gets me just 5mm short on reach but good on stack. Hmmm.

Saw bike at Blacksmith and if it had been anywhere as close in size to me as it is for you that bike would be gone. "5mm" How Allen Iverson say, "We talking about 5mm!!! 5mm!!!"

I think it looks great, I'd love to ride one! My only (small) criticism, is with the geometric graphics. Moots, Firefly, and Mosaic kind of already did that? I bet it rides great.

You know with the resurrection of steel in recent years tube size is something I really wondered about.

With the new steel often being so oversized I wonder if it is anything near what we remembered as a steel ride quality?

Of course it will not be as springy due to size but I wonder if even the damping is still there once size gets so big? Or is it more like an old style Cannondale now?

1850g for rim brake version, or about two C64's.
