Happy Friday Pictures; AKA English BadAssery

Man, there is some seriously cool stuff coming from English. I dont even like tandems, but you can't ignore the coolness of this one:

and this double leftie thing. incredible!

get out of the way trek/spec/giant, get your aero here....

i can only imagine the hours of design, imagination, engineering and detail work that go into some of these, but it's damned impressive.

i can't imagine being down on the aero bars as the stoker on that tandem. your face has to be in the crack of the captain.

Er, the middle one is interesting. The tandem is fugly. Plus, you'd think the builder would have more sense than to stick the #2 rider's face in the #1 rider's arsehole.

Not knowing much about tandems, that chainwheel in the back looks quite large.

Mad engineering and fabrication skills, but there is some part of me that says 'I just wish it was a plain ol bike'.

He bikes are polarizing to me - some are stunning looking and some look overdesigned and ugly. All look pretty fragile, in my opinion.

One cannot dispute his spirit for innovation though and I love that.

Babe Ruth struck out 16% of the time...

Don't let the fear of striking out get in your way.

Beautiful bikes to be sure, especially on their website.

Love the sky blue of the double-left, but a single speed carbon drive with disk brakes?

Rob is a great designer and fabricator.

His time at Bike Friday was also rather unique and off the beaten path.

Yeah, the first time I heard about Rob pal was the weight weenie 18-Ib Bike Friday Tikit that he modified. I have a tikit at that time too so that got me pretty intrigued.

Rob sounds like someone who likes to solve puzzles and overcome difficult challenges. When 99% of us say, "why?", he says, "why not?!"
