I have Campag 10s on one bike, bought it because it was repairable and upgradeable. Bike started with Campag 9s and a TA Zephyr crank, 48/36/24,
Campag would shift it fine, Shimano was indexed in front, so no go.
Now the bike Campag 10s, with a Sub-Compact IRD front mech to shift a 46/30 Sugino OX that has been on the bike for years.

These days, Campag is indexed in front and can't be fixed, so I bought
Ultegra/GRX to replace the Shimano 10s bar-con drive train on my fat tire
road bike.

I’d like them to make cranks with a sub-140 mm Q-factor, a better pedal-crank interface, a self-aligned BB design, and a better spindle design than that Hirth joint thing (which they probably can’t machine to sufficient tolerances at scale). A reprise of an ISIS type design but done right…

I personally would love a 2x7 setup with electronic shifting and modern steel for the cogs and chain, and 7075 alloy for the rings, which could last longer.

And I would also like to see them come up with a different design for 1x14 using a radically new drive, perhaps “beads on a string”, rather than the shaft design of Rotor (which I do find very intriguing, BTW).

One million times, this. Also, a silver mid-tier group, as has been mentioned.

I'd also love to see them resume making full gruppos... headsets, seat posts and pedals (even if licensed like before from Look).

Of those, I think the most realistic we could expect would be seatposts. I’d love to see 1” threaded headsets for all our older bikes.

I have a feeling "Mr. C" in Italy is reading this thread and thinking that the things mentioned here is something Mr. C will NOT do. JUST WILL NOT DO. He calls up this product manager and exhorts, "Giuseppe, promise me, these things, these paceliners ask for, they will not come to pass". Guiseppe, without a sliver of a doubt responds:

"Silver cranksets, 1'' headsets, silver seatposts, rim brake (RIM BRAKES?!) groupsets...where are these guys stuck in...1980s?"

"No, Mr. C. these things we made in 1980. We will not make them again. Campagnolo looks to the future. "

Mr. C looks to the future of the bike industry componentry and envisions amidst a sea of slithering black carbon cranks and black carbon levers, a future of batteries inside RDs and FDs but devoid of any wires.

This is the truth. And we all know it.

And CNA pointed out all the threads where there were zero negative comments, only positive comments and Italy calmed down after that.
I've seen you post this before and it just boggles my mind. How in the world can he think it 'diminishes' the brand? There are obviously a number of people who want a silver group....maybe it's not a big enough number to make it viable for them but we are still out here.

I love Campy and it's on every bike I own (except one that's Zeus) but as long as they never make another silver group, I'll never purchase another new Campy group. It's just that simple for me. I've already resigned myself to riding 10sp until I can't ride any longer.

I gotta say, the silver Potenza on my wife's Bianchi looks pretty slick. Old school cool.

Campy won't make a profit selling silver groups to old farts (I'm 68). I've embraced the future, which is why I've been using sram axs for over 2 years. A chorus 48/32 works well with axs.

Thumbs up

I would love if Campagnolo built pedals and pedal/cleat replacement parts.

Longtime Dura-Ace rider. I’d switch to Campy in a heartbeat if they offered R/SR 177.5/180 mm cranks and a 12-speed 12x30 cassette. Shimano offers the former and I stick with my DA 11-speed 12x28 until someone gives me a 12x30 - I have no need for an 11 cog and wouldn’t mind an 18 and a 30. All the rest I don’t care as it is good enough in both Shimano- and Campy-land.

This is one reason I switched to a compact outer ring on many of my bikes. A 50x11 is very close to a 53x12 and with modern cranks I can configure the inner to be a 34, 36 or 39 and even a 38 if one searches enough. I use an 11-28 cassette.

One reason I stick to 11 speed is Campy does offer the Centaur 12-32 cassette:

12 – 13 – 14 – 15 – 16 – 17 – 19 – 22 – 25 – 28 – 32

I find the 16t cog much more useful than an 11t.

And that 11 speed is compatible across the big 3 mfrs, makes it easy to mix and match.

Of course, YMMV! LOL

Good Luck!

Not true on both counts..

I would love it if all Campag cranks came with power meters. Their disc brake system is the best without question and they should offer that in all group sets. I also much prefer the shifting tab on the Centaur shifters as compared to what are on my H11 shifters. The EKAR ones are nice as well but they both need to be able to dump gears down like the others.

Otherwise, I love my Campag systems. Run Shimano on four bikes and Campag on two.
