Good but may be switching soon.

They were the most competitive last time I shopped around, and they have been great, but we have one auto claim against us since my wife bumped a rental on vacation, and we have a home claim in progress for water damage repairs.

I am fearful of staying with one group after claims have been filed.

I have USAA and I've been pleased with their customer service.

However, rates for all carriers are skyrocketing. My car insurance is up 47% and homeowners is up 81% in in five years.

We had our insurance with Hartford (through AARP) and they jacked the price on the house insurance this year so we went shopping. Saved considerable over the old rate (and made the large increase they had tacked on go away). Car insurance was slightly higher, though...

My wife found an online broker who seemed really competent at cross-shopping policies and carriers--and we moved both to Travelers. They're called Policy Genius:

Some insurances don't have umbrella policies if that's important to you.

I'll second the advice to...

...go with an independent broker.
Didn't believe it until our mortgage guy recommended one.
Saved us a lot of money maintaining (at least) the same levels of coverage and service even though I worked for the Good Hands at the time.

I have had great experiences with Amica. Amica was awesome to deal with when I got hit by a car while riding my bike to work. The driver had the bare minimum of coverage and my Auto Supplemental Underinsured Motorist Insurance covered. Amica was great to deal with and covered without question or hassle. I also have homeowners through Amica, and the few minor claims I’ve had to make over the years were painless.
