I’ve been having trouble clearing out “flower punk” and most of the Mothers of Invention ‘We’re only in it for the Money’. Such a brilliant send up of society at that time... or any time, really.

Sound check with JJ Cale and Eric Clapton. I'm a big JJ Cale fan.

Vulfpeck

Went down a rabbit hole recently and found some super funky electric bass grooves - probably I am behind the cultural curve here.
wrt to bass, that substantial chapter a lifetime ago, but I've got the itch to start playing again. The J bass was it for me, but I'm thinking Stingray Special 4H...

Check out Cory Wong, he frequently plays with Vulfpeck and has a ton of amazing solo work too.

Check out the Fearless flyers (another one of his projects that overlaps with Vulfpeck)

Also Cory Wong has an *amazing* podcast where he interviews various string instrument players. It just started this year and the list of people he's already interviewed is hard to believe, and quality of discussion is way above "what kind of guitar do you play" type stuff.

Nearly a century of double entendres

this flo-rida feauturing Keshan song reminds me of Let Me Play With It.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re2FQZK54oA
You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down
You spin my head right round, right round
When you go down, when you go down down
From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwin' my money around
Ain't nothin' more beautiful to be found
It's goin' down down
From the top of the pole I watch her go down
She got me throwin' my money around
Ain't nothin' more beautiful to be found
It's goin' down down

You let me play with your yo-yo, and I'll let you play with mine.
You let me play with your yo-yo, and I'll let you play with mine.
You got a wiener and I got a bun; we can put the two together and have some fun.
You let me play with your yo-yo, and I'll let you play with mine.

I've heard a few from him. All covers, but good.
