Thank God. That is the first bmw I’ve seen since about 2002 that I would want. I like it all but the grill. Would love to see a little kidney heritage there as well. I miss the days when you could easily identify the sedans by the size of the grill. I’d also like a solid roof, please. Unless that glass is electro fluorescent dimming I feel I would bake in there. Bravo!

I agree about the kidneys. I’m not a BMW nut (my brother is) but I do appreciate that the grilles were essentially iconography, and really well expressed, on the older models. They could ground their designs with that classic element and still go forward.

I like it well enough. It reminds me of the Panhard PL 24.

I'll stick with their design themes in the newish 330e.

We were lucky to travel throughout Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia and Austria in this beauty in June and July with my wife's family.

It was a rocketship on the Autobahn and actually got pretty decent mileage.

Plenty of room for our luggage and my fly rods.

The only "homage to the 2002" that I see is the trapezoidal cabin, and even that is faint. My 2002 was one of my favorite cars but this is a hard pass.

Bmw is putting some very ugly models on the streets recently, IMO. The xm leads the way with the 7 series closely behind.

They don't bug me that much.

I'm getting in line for a new Landcruiser 1958, so it's all good.

None of the current X models do that much for me.

Apparently a lot of people are OK with them, as BMW is killing it in terms of sales!

The big greenhouse on that design is great. I'll take one, but with a solid roof...

Interesting stats.

I wonder how much Covid 19 impacted these numbers?

BMW's as far as the eye can see in Europe on our recent visit.
