Cheap cheap... There're only that many mansions you can buy, luxury cars you can drive and days in the sea you can tolerate staying in your multi-million dollar yatch.

And if this is your childhood dream, you will save every penny or sell everything you had, even if you are making $15 an hour.

It's up to the individual to determine what it's worth.

Many friends think that I am utterly crazy with what I spend on custom bicycles.
They tell me bicycles can be purchased at Wal-Mart or Target for $129.99.
It is a free country. We are allowed to spend discretionary money as we see fit.

As expensive as it is, I do agree with this POV. Specially if one is in the latter stage of their years and it is a dream to fly in space and see earth from there (well, most of it.)

I loved Elysium, the movie. Neill Blomkamp is a great director. Still waiting for the sequel to District 9. Anyway, I'm reminded of that social structure in the movie with the ultra rich living a wonderful existence in space while the rest of humanity is scraping by on Earth. You know, happy, giddy billionaires sharing fine champagne after their thrill rides, and actually telling the rest of us that it's an advancement that will improve all our lives, so, stop complaining.

Well, that reality is probably not far away.

But for a slight positive view, moving to space (even if just for the elite) is the only way the human could survive as a species.

It's not that bad if you consider the new Star Wars hotel at Disney is $6000 for a family of 4. It's $750 a person a night!!

The Vomit Comet would be cheaper and you'd get more weightless time.

I know this is headed for class warfare, but I think the billionaire space club is a good thing for society. All technology is expensive when it begins, but competition brings prices down. This isn't about the middle-class folks getting a ride to space, this is about bringing that technology to earth. I'm using internet that I get via Starlink, based on satellites launched into space SpaceX.

About six months ago I was contacted about a maintenance manager job at the Virgin Aerospace spaceport at Mohave, CA. If I were a younger man willing to work those long hours, it would be a great opportunity.

You just wait till that first one explodes and crashes back to earth in a fiery ball. I doubt many tickets will be sold after that.

Yes, technology eventually trickles down to something the common man can afford. Having said that, and trying not to be snide, I don't think that the guy living under the bridge is ever going to able to afford a trip like that. Nor will the people living under bridges 100 years from now.
