Somec Promax - The 90s called........

I have been looking for one of these for a LONG time in my size. Finally found a NOS frameset on ebay and started from there.

I emailed Somec in Italy to see if they had any NOS pantographed parts that I could use, only to be informed that they actually still engrave parts for their customers. So, my Campy Athena groupset went on a trip to Italy, and Lara and the crew at Somec did the rest to produce a colour-matched pantographed groupset. Everything except the crankset has some work on it. The whole process was very smooth, affordable, and quite fast.

Frame and Fork - 54cm Somec Promax - columbus max tubing
The pictures don't do the paint justice. It's much more flurorescent/neon in real life.
Wheelset - almost new 10-sp record hubs laced to ambrosio nemesis 32-h (Thanks to Lou on the forum for the killer hubs)
Full Campy 11-sp Athena groupset
Goccia ITM quill stem -110mm NOS
Nitto M106NAS short and shallow bar
BLB white leather bar tape and Supacaz neon yellow bar plugs
Specialized chicane saddle (for now)
Dura-ace fluted seat post (I KNOW its not CAMPY!)

Ride report to follow, but its pouring right now, and rain the rest of the week. This will be my sunny day ride and guilty pleasure. No computers, no training agenda, just me and the road. Can't wait.

That is unbelievably cool. I cannot believe they still have the tooling and inclination to panto parts. I love it!

Holy hell! That's awesome. Love the modern panto. If you haven't already done so, you might want to get some clear protective tape between the cables and the headtube. Gotta keep that thing pristine.
