If you have definitely narrowed it down to these two choices - which is fine - then for me this is the clear winner.

Bourbon is for drinking, bright ano is for titanium.

Bright ano. This ain't a 70s station wagon. Turd Brown ain't on the menu as an accent color.

I have the same dilemma... like the sour apple green, which is no longer available. I am being drawn to the matte turquoise... after seeing some examples of ti bikes with it on PL...

Going through similar choice. The bourbon looks great and appears to be timeless, but the same could be said about black. Purple just feels in 2 years will seem out of place to me. I have sour apple on my moots and love the color, works well but starting to feel out of place.

Some good points made by various folks already. The bourbon feels a bit more restrained, classy and subtle.

The purple feels the opposite; brash and loud, but also fun.

If you're really not sure on which one you want the bike to be, I'd recommend 1 of two things.

1. Flip a coin: And do it right. Write down the rules. Heads = Bourbon, Tails=Purple. Flip it. If you feel a tinge of hope (one way or the other) while the coin is in the air, don't catch it, just go with your gut.

2. Depending on who is building the bike up, have them do a Speedvagen surprise me type thing...

For what its worth, I'd probably go with the bourbon, but I am a play it safe kind of guy.

I've got CK brown (before they called it bourbon) on my MOOTS cross bike. With brown saddle, tape and skinwalls, it softens the harsher titanium color.

Bourbon

IMG_2283.jpegI went with matte bourbon headset and hubs on my Seven RedSky and I'm really happy with it. I find it classy and I don't think I'll get tired of it.

^^ Nice!

I liked the Mavic Allroad brown hubs from a few years ago. Purple has been done for 25 years, nothing new there.

Note that our bikes is the one place we can choose colors without a note from the wife.

So over compensate by all means, bright magenta like the 80s. The violets are the new magenta it seems.

But seriously, I tend to stay safe on expensive parts colors. Saddles, cage and bar tape, I go nuts. Not to mention jerseys...

The poll seems to like the root beer!

I've got a ti gravel bike build in the works myself and chose CK Bourbon bits for it. This thread and the photos supplied have me feeling pretty good about my choice!

They look even better mixed with unpolished titanium and matte black than I had imagined.

Also there are Bourbon ti Chris King cages available from two suppliers!
