If you want purple, Carl Strong has posted a fairly priced ready made purple setup in the classifieds.

As someone who lived through the 90s cnc craze, I'd say go purple.

Highlight - why call attention to the bits or detract from the frame? Ipso facto: bourbon....

That’s an Alchemy Ronin but I agree with the sentiment, they are pretty righteous framesets.

I think this is almost perfect

but I have always liked the idea of a titanium frame, black fork and then a rainbow of anodized components...
No two pieces the same.....

Speaking of those anodized titanium cages, the color is created by a thin layer of titanium oxide on the surface. We had discussed this in the Agave thread, and I think the consensus was that there was a good chance that grit could wear that oxide layer off. I’ve got a pair of carbon cages on my gravel bike, and I already see some scratches on the clear coat. So, maybe that’s an argument for plain titanium cages.

Alternatively, maybe someone should email Josh at Silca to get his opinion on the durability of the finish in gravel conditions.

In any case, I did vote for brown. I did not go through the purple craze in the 90s. Chris King really does seem to have put out a nice brown!

The color will eventually wear off, but this is true for anodize on aluminum cages or paint on carbon ones.. the surface itself it surprisingly durable, but dirt and moisture will form a sort of lapping compound and in time, you will begin to wear through it.. which I like to think of as a sign that it's N+1 time!!
