Gravel Kings 700x32 smooth run small

I mounted them last night and rode them today. On an A23 rim they measure 31. Maybe they will stretch out but at this time they are slightly small. This is the new smooth version.

The 28's on the same rims measure 28.

Yeah, but how do they ride?

They'll stretch to 33 or 34mm.

For slick CX/gravel tires, you might want to try Gatorskin 32mm, as these measured around 35mm on HED Belgium+ 25mm rims out of the gate on my bikes.

Mine have been mounted for about 2 weeks on older Mavic Open 4 CD rims. Inflated to 60 psi I measure 29mm wide. So yes, they're about 3mm undersized.

I haven't really ridden them yet, still getting some parts for this bike's reconfig, but I don't think of these tires as "Gravel Kings", more like rough pavement kings. That's about perfect for what I intend on this bike. I prefer 650B for gravel anyway.

Ed.

I have some 28's mounted on some Pacenti PL23's. I rode them through some fairly rough gravel on Sat. They were sub-optimal on the larger stuff.

They are really good on the road and on crushed granite surfaces. But I could have definitely used more tread, and a wider tire, on Sat. (note: it was likely my fault for selecting this combo on Sat)

In my experience the new 1.5" and 1.75" Pari-Motos also run a few mm small.
