RIP Phyllis Hines

The Atlanta cycling community learned that Phyllis Hines passed away earlier this week.

From a local cyclist:

Phyllis was an amazing athlete. In the 1980s she raced on the prestigious 7-11 women's professional cycling team, competing in the US Nationals, Worlds, the Olympics, and the Tour de France FĂ©minin, the women's edition of the TDF several times. After she retired from professional cycling, she took up running, then returned to riding for fitness after several years off the bike.

She still holds the USA Cycling Masters 30-34 40 km time record which she set in 1995 (52:50).
