A 9.5 mile loop that I enjoy for its (mostly) lack of traffic.

From Tuesday's 170 mile ride on rural highways west of the Minneapolis Metro area. It was a beautiful day to be on a bike!

I've been getting in lots of miles lately in preparation for a double century ride in a few weeks. Even though I had 265 miles in my legs for the week I decided to go for it yesterday in 90º+ temps. I had a fun and memorable day on my bike.

My team did the Ultimate Challenge a couple weeks ago. It’s not a race but it’s an event our main sponsor supports (America First Credit Union)...so we do this every year and roll in together as a show of appreciation for them. They Love it! The final climb is timed but everyone does their own pace and waits at the top about 300 yards from the finish chute, we re-group and roll in together. The crowds always seem to love it. As you can see we have a pretty big presence...that sea of Orange jerseys is HUGE visibility for the sponsor...in front of the same crowds & TV cameras for the TofU Pro race.

About 10,000 feet of climbing / 100 Miles.

The Ultimate Challenge is stage 4 of the Tour of Utah. You finish about 30 minutes before the Pros do in front of the same cheering crowds. It’s pretty awesome to get hand up, pushes, words of motivation, etc on the same finishing climb (which is pretty brutal) the pros will a bit later. Watch to the end and you’ll see what I mean.

It’s a mix of video from a GoPro Hero5 session mounted under my bars and some iPhone video from a guy driving our support vehicle. I’m the guy on the silver Wilier, cheesy grin, with the orange-lens Speedcraft sunglasses

Dawn to Dusk 2018!

This was way more fun than a 61-year-old should be allowed to have. Each year the Silver Cyclists out of Lakeville, MN host their Dawn to Dusk ride, a double century (and then some) ride that utilizes every minute of daylight (and then some). This year's event created lots of fun memories.

Enjoy! I sure did!

Weisan pal -- yes, I sorta rediscovered my love for road riding this summer. I wrote about it here in a recent blog entry. It's been nice and a lot of fun.

Yeah, I read that earlier, that's awesome, I am really happy for you but to be honest, the only thing I can think about while reading your report was this:

Quote:
Shad's parents met us with a large tray of fried chicken
And I think you riding the fat bike during winter has prepared you to jump back into action whenever you want to, which is great!
Yes, finding the right group of people will rekindle our love~!

River Trails and Hurrying Home

What began as a beautiful morning didn't hold up. Blue skies gave way to threatening clouds by the time I exited the river trails. I had to put it into overdrive to try and beat the storm. I was mostly successful.
