This definitely makes things more interesting. I will stand by my previous comment, I think he can still win a sprint if he makes it to the end of the stage with the bunch. I don't know how many stages that will be true for, and I don't know if he can make the time cut in the mountains.

Well there are very few teams left who can put together a legit sprint-train, and DQS is probably the best at it. My guess is they go all-in for Cav when the stage suites him, most likely stages 3, 4, or 6.
the opening stages are much more tailored for Alaphilippe, so I suspect they'll ride for him and the maillot jaune first, then try to get Cav a win as a secondary goal. |
