If you make it up to Napa Valley / St. Helena....stop by the Clif Family Winery (of Clif Bar fame).

https://www.cliffamily.com/

https://www.cliffamily.com/cycling-adventures/

Wine is good, not too expensive (relative to Napa), lots of food items for sale too, eat at their food truck, nice deck out back of tasting room, lots of cycling stuff on the walls.

Cheers.

There is also a Gotts pretty much right across the street from Joostx world HQ.

Our car has never been cleaner than since moving to SF.

Leave NOTHING. No change, no charger cords, no clothes. Don't put stuff in your trunk when you are parked at your destination. Put it there before you leave.\

Harmon Tower at the de Young is free, and beautiful views of the city. We will have just opened the "Contemporary Muslim Fashion" show around the time you are here. It is already selling lots of tickets and should be popular. SFMOMA is great, as is Asian Art Museum. Legion of Honor Museum is smaller, but has one of the most amazing views.

Alembic on Haight is our favorite cocktail bar in the city. San Tung in the Sunset is a very popular place for dry fried chinese wings. The SF Columbarium is a hidden gem. You can visit Harvey Milk.

Twin Peaks is a great climb, as is Mt Sutro and Grand View Park (also the 16th ave tiled stairs if you need a photo op).

Gotts is ranked 4-5 on the list of burgers places in Marin. Milkshake are probably 3rd or 4th best. If you want any a milk shake Super Duper in Mill Valley or Posie in Larkspur are to best in Southern Marin IMO

Sadly this is very very true. I live near the Palace of Fine Arts and on the days I'm in San Francisco there are ALWAYS a few if not several piles of busted auto glass around the palace from the break ins. The more tourist in the area the worse the problem.

And while I'm at it, if you are in the Marina area of San Francisco there is a restaurant in Ft Mason called Greens. It's vegetarian; but the real reason to go there is the daytime view out to the Golden Gate. And if you are in that area a walk along the bay to the bridge is pretty awesome!

Angry pal, you know me very well. Despite my parent's best efforts to educate me on the finer things in life and to expose me to all kinds of cultures in our oversea travels, I am pretty much a food dork. My lovely bride, on the other hand, is the cultured and educated one. Honestly, this trip is more for her than it is for me, I gotta accumulate more brownie points that I can use towards future bike purchases and such, as fellow bike enthusiasts, I am sure y'all can understand.

Yup, my taste bud is fairly simple and unsophisticated. McDonalds is one of those places where I can be spotted but I only go there to use the $1 deals on their online app to get this:

Other yummy food that I like include:

Breakfast tacos

Korean spicy noodle

just to name a few...which makes things a lot easier when I travel...because these are stuff you can find just about anywhere. I am really pretty low maintenance when it comes to food.

On the topic of milkshakes, Gott's is OK but the best ones in the city are at Bill's Place.

My BIL lives two blocks from the Embarcadero/across from Transbay, got married in the Asian Art Museum.

Dim Sum @ Yank Sing is a must (Spear Street Location)

Great China in Berkley has absolutely awesome peking duck and Liang Pi, but get there at opening or wait in line forever.

Lots of good things covered, here's a few more

Chinese food - I'd say for fancy to go China Live in Chinatown, for non fancy Dumpling Kitchen on Taraval is fantastic.
Beautiful scenery - it is hard to go wrong. I'd skip Muir Woods, it is too crowded. You can hike and get redwoods off of Samuel P. Taylor, by parking in Mill Valley and hiking the Cascade Trail and so much more.
Historical and cultural centers - The Legion of Honor has a great exhibition right now that traces the history of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. SFMOMA has some extraordinary video works on the 7th floor right now, as well as a powerhouse modernist collection
Romantic night spots - skip Quince, it is one of SF's only 3 michelin stars and carries a price to match that. I'd go to the Trestle, ABV, Liholiho Yacht Club, Nopa, Elixir and True Laurel for food and drinks

as I said, the Powerhouse Bar on Folsom is the most romantic place in SF ever.

More romantic than the early 2000s Elbo Room?
