Ya, man, riding is good for sanity, especially in times like this. Have you set up the oval rings on a double? I was thinking Froome or somebody on Sky used to ride these and I never thought much at the FD set-up at the time but now it’s got me wondering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I almost did a few years back, but have exclusively used them on 1x set ups. I did about 1500 ft of climbing on the Mukluk with the oval ring and it seemed to climb with ease. I still have the 36t inner ring on my Drifter, but took the front derailleur off and will likely remove if I ever get around to getting the shorter bolts instead of what I had on hand during the switch. I am around 220lbs at the moment and down 18lbs since the winter. I definitely am feeling better every day I get out on the bike and confidently pushing the 44t oval front ring with a 10-42 rear cassette without any issues. I picked up a 40t oval to swap out for when the ride may be more dirt centric with steeper climbs and likely during the winter months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Congrats on dropping the poundage! I was going to post on the weight loss challenge that since the classics aren’t happening I guess it gives us an extra year to get to our target weights Thanks again for the info on the oval rings! I’m all 2x so prolly not for me right now. Also pretty flat in my hood so pretty much anything 53/39-50/34 works well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got out for a little over 40 miles today and did a 3 mile climb. Much needed therapy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Decided to explore the hood some more yesterday with the Drifter in 650b mode. Ended up hiking in mud, streams and rocky rooted trails for a few miles on and off and definitely would have benefited from one of my mountain bikes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Going to do this again when things dry out a bit, but on one of the mountain bikes. Lots of roots and rocks even when dry, but the scenery was great and I didn't see another person the entire time.

nice ride today. pleasant weather, though windy. found a new trail that was pretty nice. had a nice long sit on a log and relax, forgetting about what is going on for a precious few minutes.

Got some miles in today. A woman mentioned as I made this snap that my bike was dressed for Easter.
So many people on bikes around here. |
