Curious about others' custom experiences.
Lots of money and lots of room for error in the measuring and/or molding process -and then they're yours... |

Among the exceptions, I believe, is their bar tape -- recall your gripe about how short the roll was.
Personally, 50/50 on them. The cush tape is nice but the silicon stuff is the worst I've ever used, irrespective of price. Back on topic, I think these look sharp, but then again all my shoes look beat to hell after a short time no matter what I try…so I've stopped trying. It's an early intro price if you order pre November 13th.

Doing the fit kit for Lamson shoes is actually pretty easy. You also can ask Don to guide you through the process using Skype. I’ve trained my iPad camera on my victim’s feet when I’ve made taken measurements and made the impressions. It gives me peace of mind to have him watching and giving advice notwithstanding the fact that I’ve fit his shoes many times. I highly recommend going this route.

Probably a topic for a separate thread, but my experience with custom cycling shoes is it replaced one type of foot pain for another--probably a net positive, but not the "cinderella" feeling I had been hoping for. There are so many variables at play, and it seems almost impossible for a custom shoe maker to get them all right at once.

Maybe they align for common sizes, but Spesh ends at 48 or sometimes 49 I think, doesn't end at 46.5

Interesting shoes, they put the boas diagonally... wonder how wide they are... :/

I have the current gen s works road shoe. It's great. It has a roomy toebox. The Body Geometry or whatever is now wedge footbed thing is as good as I've had from a stock shoe. I'm very pleased with them. Takes a few rides to break in the upper...but after that, it's all good.

Got a pair of these on their current sale, along with some gloves and bar tape. Confirming that they fit like Specialized Sworks and they are quite nice. Currently on sale from $210-$225, is a great choice.
