Kirk JKS

This just arrived and I want to thank Dave for making the whole process so much fun. The inspiration was a colorway taken from the 1990 Merckx catalog. Room for fenders and fat tires.

Build shots and ride report to follow!

Steve, paint is amazing...I emailed JB the Merckx picture and he really surpassed my expectations. The detail is outstanding - and my wife reminded me to not worry about inevitable chips and scratches, just ride the darn thing.

Really nice.
You mention fat tires and fenders...what size will it fit?

Wheels are 700c. Just put Compass Stampede Pass (32mm) on Hed C2's and there's tons of room and can probably go up to 35's. With fenders 25-28 will be the max. For me, 32-35 constitutes a "fat" tire.

Hey Nick, thanks so much.

Right now it's wearing silver Potenza, Hed C2's and some Compass tires. I'm not 100% sold on the Potenza stuff and the tan sidewalls may be a little busy for the color scheme. Stem is a Ritchey Classic - I left the matching seatpost off because the Campy is so much easier to adjust until I get the contact points dialed in.

I asked Dave to leave some room above the stem but I think that will be ok to trim sooner rather than later. I asked for not a lot of drop and that's exactly how the bike was built.

The attention to detail by Dave and JB is unbelievable.

Love it. Prettier than the inspiration by far, and the fork is really nice too, congrats!
