Rob sounds like someone who likes to solve puzzles and overcome difficult challenges. When 99% of us say, "why?", he says, "why not?!"
We need people like him around.

The TT tandem almost makes me want to talk to MrsTR about racing again. Almost.

I completely agree - the world is a better place with his bikes

One cannot dispute his spirit for innovation though and I love that.
but not fragile at all. I have one of his road bikes, that thing is as stout as any other road bike I ever been on and I am certainly not a small guy... over 200lbs. He knows how to design bikes that is for sure, and they happen to look good too (sure there are some that I don't personally like visually but they are always interesting)

Happy Friday Pictures; AKA English BadAssery

English is the guy really pushing what metal can be in a bicycle frame. Imho he is his own category.

Plenty of great builders but no one else is doing what rob is doing

I am a fan

He does amazing work is very nice guy and a tremendous rider. He holds the local hillclimb course record.
He also had a bad crash a couple of years ago and severely busted up his left shoulder. He lost most use of his arm for a year due to nerve damage. He told me he hooked up an old bike tube as a sling for his arm that would give him passive flexion of his arm. He could straighten out his arm with effort but not flex it. He welded and brazed with his arm like that. Was told his nerve damage may be permanent . He worked really hard at PT daily-his docs and physical therapists are amazed he has had function of his arm return. All this time he continued to design and build his beautiful bikes.
He is one tough guy who comes up with and executes amazing designs. Mad props to him.

Yes, I am sure they’re well engineered. What I love about his work is that everything has been considered. He doesn’t seem to be a guy who just takes a BB for granted, or that stock seatstay rube diameters are just good enough

I was looking at his website last night and he has make some gorgeous bikes, that’s for sure...

Very cool but I wonder about the torsional rigidity of that tandem. That's a long span for the stoker.

Absolutely love my V3. Rides amazing with plenty of stiffness to be quick to accelerate. In line for another frame from him. He was so easy to work with. Everyone thinks it should be a noodle but it most certainly is not. 13.5lbs as it sits with computer and pedals.

/\ yeah, Rob is a super nice guy and one of the most professional people I have dealt with. I should stop buying bikes and just put my name on his queue, would love to have another bike from him, this time with discs and more tire clearance oh and maybe the carbon headtube.

English stuff is off the charts innovative.

That tandem is a serious haul ass machine. Obviously not built for fresh whiff of puppies and rainbows.

CAAD that's a stunner. There's a forum member here with a white one like yours, it was for sale for a long time. If it fit me, I'd have bought it in a blink.

No kidding on the tandem, our Paketa in TT dress is a lot like that except our Stoker stem comes from the seatpost rather than the top tube. We were turning 40ks in the low 50's on it. There's no problem with that design unless you are competing against it.
