ISO Go fast road bike recommendation

I thought I’d be happy keeping the bike in cruise these days but now have an itch for a go fast road bike. I’m not particularly particular, but here’s what I’m thinking…

A few questions as you're looking for recommendations..

(1) rolling terrain? primarily climbing?
(2) group rides? solo? distance?
(3) crosswinds a concern?

What's your current ride and what makes it feel slow?

I found my 2016 Cannondale Supersix Evo Hi-Mod on eBay in December for $1,250 with Ultegra 6800 11s and light Mavic wheels. It’s not a go-fast bike in my hands, but one like it could be for you

Rolling terrain. I enjoy climbing more than the flats, or descents, but recognize that aero rules everything around me.

Group rides & solo equally. Crosswinds not a concern, but the Cincinnati area and other areas I’d enjoy riding are rolling/hilly, so unlikely to go with super deep wheels.

I ride a steel DeSalvo. But I have several older steel bikes I can ride and might be interested in something more “modern” built for speed. Perhaps a sweet mid-depth wheelset would scratch the itch.

If you're a pretty regular size, just keep an eye on the used market, lots of people are moving to disc and ready to unload their prior rim brake late model road bikes.

NHaero's bike is a perfect recent example of what's out there.

A current gen TCR Advanced 2 rim can currently be had brand new for $1800. Shimano 105 11-speed mechanical. The stock wheels are okay but unspectacular. The frame is peak rim brake.

Canyon Endurace 7 aluminum fits your criteria, but you need to be sure of your fit and minor assembly skill. ~1400g frame IIRC, full 105 11s disc mechanical, 35mm tire clearance. No mudguard mounts though.

Presumably he meant the current generation of the frameset.

I'm not sure I agree, there are so many great deals out there these days, you can get a new bike with a full warranty etc...
If I was in the market for a bike like the OP is looking for I'd be all over that Giant referenced up thread.
