Sram AXS Force FD issue

Purchased a new bike at a shop 90 minute drive away. FD worked 2 or 3 times on a short test ride although the shop said it was not fully charged. Got home, charged both batteries fully. Paddle batteries are fine. RD paired up nicely, working fine. But when pushing the button on the FD the led does not light up, it does nothing. Have tried swapping batteries, no luck, both work well in the RD. Called shop, not much help, does not open till Tuesday. Is this just a throw away/replace item in this case? Any ideas? This is not the latest iteration of Force. Thanks in advance.

Remove the battery, hold the AXS button down, while reinstalling the battery. That should wake it up. I just got a new one that wouldn't respond when the battery was first installed. That woke it up.

Then hold the RD AXS button down until the green light flashes and pair all other items. You can use the AXS phone app later to give the bike a name and set up other options.

That worked! It took a number of tries, but it finally "woke up". Now I just have some trim issues to deal with. Thanks a bunch!
