Pegoretti to continue....

I had been in communication with a dealer prior to Dario's untimely death and recently received the following note. This is not official of course, but great news for those desiring the name to continue.

Quote:
It appears that the Pegoretti factory will continue to produce Dario’s frames. The parties involved have hired a manager to run the business, oversee the return to production and they have been conferring with a lawyer to help with the legal issues. Dario had made an appointment with a lawyer before he died and it appears he was already thinking of setting things up prior to his retirement. This is very good news. It means we will continue on as a dealer and it greatly increases the chance that we will be getting the frames we have on hold at the distributor. The official word is not out yet, but we are breathing a sigh of relief.

good news indeed for those employed at the company and the dealers, lets hope they can continue to keep the standard high. I heard Dario had a son who also was involved in the business?
Doubtless the brand will transform, but it doesn't necessarily have to be for the worse.

I daresay the technology can be kept true to the brand. For the artistic inspiration, if i was the new manager, i'd look out for graphic artists outside of the business (and play them many Zappa- and Jazz-records )

I just found out a buddy of mine was at Dario's the day before his death.

He said Dario's son was quite involved with the fitting process and spoke with my buddy as did Dario. His understanding was that Dario's son was going to continue the tradition. I hope so.
