Finally got it together

Just finished up getting the DA crankset on. Phil outboard cups. Pretty much amazed that I can actually feel the difference in the crank vs. the 7410 DA crank and square taper Phil bb that was replaced. Lighter, lower pedaling resistance and seems stiffer too. Don't have the obligatory 'garage door', but the pecan tree held the bike up.

Full Ultegra 11 speed group (8 pieces) from PBK. Can't beat the price, with duties and 'foreign fee' charges it was still around $630 . It was time to upgrade the Fierte to 11 speed.

Got a good deal on this today on E Bay, adding to my collection of Alfa Romeo cycling jerseys. This isn't a "true" Alfa jersey, but given the price ($16 shipped) it's OK. Only real problem is the super-short zipper.

I ordered one of those, as well as the D/A 9000 (39mm) version. Also ordered some Microshift thumb shifters for my Ritchey 'cause the barcon is acting up

I am a minimalist when it comes to graphics on cycling clothes so the Rapha Aero Jersey looks interesting. Your image gives me a better idea of the what the jersey is like than their website .... what about the Rapha logo thing on the back of the jersey--- is it very large? And, any comments on the sizing? I was thinking of just ordering the size I wear in my other Rapha jersey.

Actually you coulda beat that price by about $80 from Ribble or Merlin. But still a ridiculous price on a great groupset.

The aero jersey is very similar to the pro team jersey. The material is a hair thinner and a little more snug, but almost more give in the material which makes it very stretchy. When I say a little, I do mean a little. I wear the same size in the aero as I do in the pro team jersey. The difference is minimal but still noticeable. I think it is tighter around the mid section and waist. My buddy who wears the same size pro team jesery as me but has broader shoulders and longer torso ordered an aero and returned it. It was just a bit to snug around his lower torso and waist and found that it rode up instead of staying down around his waist. Not sure because I didn't see it on him. Supposedly there have been other people online who have mentioned the same thing though.

Here is my suggestion. If you like your gear to be race tight, then you should be fine and yiu will like it.....a lot. If yiu are like my buddy, who likes his stuff to fit more like the classic jersey, then I would not get the aero.

As for the logo on the back, it's small. Here is a picture from my ride last week where you can see the back logo....

Thanks, those comments help. I like the aesthetics, but sounds as if the fit is not for me. Nice stylish kit you have!
