I suppose that all the gravel talk is a bit tiresome to those whose interests are elsewhere. No worries, this gravel thing will fizzle soon, and the next big obsession will be...???

yup...keep the GD and the Classifieds organic. You never know what topic or bike or part is going to pop up - it's like a surprise each time you open the forum.

You've been around long enough to know these suggestions to add sections go nowhere. But it's winter so I'll play.
We cant even agree what "gravel" is. We can sort of agree what "General Discussion" is, and what "Classifieds" is (though I've been thwarted twice posting bike-packing items there...) That is about as granular a delineation of topics as we can handle.

Maybe we should label gravel threads “OR” for off-road?

Just kidding....

We plan to keep things as is for the foreseeable future

Siloed discussions are part of the reason I stopped going to bikeforums. Separate categories for everything made it so it was the same threads over and over.

Here, even though similar things happen such as similar threads, enough of a varied audience sees them that there is a way more interesting discourse.

Agreed. The “everyone in a big room bouncing around from conversation to conversation” dynamic is part of what makes this place unique. It creates a sense of virtual neighborhood and community, instead of partitioning us off into our own exclusive niches. The world could use more neighborhood and less niches.

Me as well. I've participated in forums for 20 years but nothing quite as consolidated as here and it is a joy. I'm pretty new here but looking forward to posting my bikes!
