UPDATED Pic: Serotta Serial Number Help

Hi. I know there have been multiple threats in the past...no help so far.

Colorado LT (possible 1987, exterior seat post bolt, lugged)

G 50.

50 is the size (close on measurements)

G? Early model.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Thanks. I read through it. No luck with just a “G” and 50.

Any help would be great.

I think he is suggesting you should post it in that thread. I was eyeing that frame too.

When it arrives, post better photos. Loads of discoveries come from all the little details. The serial number being just one of those little details. Looks the part though!

The serial number should also be on the fork steerer and easier to read since there will be no paint covering it. G 50 seems to be incomplete. However, there were a lot of frames that were made for employees or as prototypes that had various serial markings on them.

cool frame. very early one for sure. did you pull the steerer tube and see if it's stamped with any other numbers?

what exactly do you want to know about it?

Haven’t yet. Just picked it up. One original owner.

Mainly looking to figure out the year (was told 1987), and properties of the tube set/fork.

Thanks.

It's certainly not a Colorado LT. It may be a Serotta but I have never seen that combo of parts used to build one and I have never seen one with a stamping in the BB like that.

I'd want to see the number stamped on the steerer.

That does not look like a Serotta. Lugs, Brake Bridge, Chain stay bridge, fork crown...none of these are typical of any Serotta. It is an obvious respray (the water bottle bolts are painted) and the decals are not placed in a typical way.

Nothing stamped on the steerer. I also think it’s suspect based on the painted water bottle bolts (?) and the BB stamping.
