Just got a Norco Threshold. Not as fancy as most of the bikes on here, but I got a great deal & I'm super excited to get this out on some gravel rides. |

Picked up a nice R2.5 this weekend. Put it together with DA7800, Pro Vibe finishing kit and Zipp 404's.
Excited to give this a shot. My budget C40 |

I had the chance to test ride a Search (the carbon version) down in central Oregon last summer. Due to some questionable route finding I know these things are fun to ride on well-maintained forest service roads, horribly maintained forest service roads that turn into rock gardens, smooth golf course community roads, and chip seal rural roads. Norco MTBs and road bikes fit me well. Can you attach a rando front rack on that fork? |

I actually did some tire size/pressure tests. Biggest fail was the 47x650b Cannonballs on RR ballast so far. But for RR ballast at my size/weight, fat bike I guess. And not planning to add that to the collection.... ever.. well maybe an electric one...

They had the carbon Threshold at a pretty good price, too, but this was more in my budget & I tend to be hard on my bikes, so aluminum it is. Felt pretty nice on my little test ride. |

You are about to feel super plush compared to the Hardshells! Enjoy. Great tires. I have 5 sets.

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing. How's your flat protection experience been on those tires?

No picture necessary for this one. I have splurged on a Shimano 105 7000 groupset for a NIB Soma Smoothie frame/fork that is my next project. It has morphed from a "mostly use what I have on hand" build, to an upgraded, up-moneyed, all new build. This is my first, and likely the only, build from a new frame/fork, and now new everything. What the heck, the bike will give me a lot of self satisfaction, a lot of hours on the road, and a lot of mental and physical therapy, and a lot of pleasure. In the end, a real bargain.

I just picked up a carbon railed turbomatic for cheap to give a go to. I also picked up a couple knockoff Spider saddles for the same reason. Both are design's I've been interested in but didn't want to invest a bunch into if they prove to be not right for me. This way its not a bummer if they flop.

Picked up 2 conti 5000 tires, plus a tattico pump yesterday at the shop I buy from.
Mounted the 5000s with no problem on my Belgium + rims, and used the tattico to make sure a road side change is possible - success on the first try and no issues seating the tires. Guessing the Schwalbe's are a special type of tire, that I just can't figure out. |
